Clans Are a Roach Infestation Killing Online Games, Why?

Clans in online games have devolved into digital infestations as they are nothing but tribal nesting. They don’t build communities. They breed toxicity. Think of them like roaches: they swarm in dark corners, multiply fast, hide behind anonymity, and poison everything they touch. You don’t see them coming until the game is already crawling with them—hoarding loot, dominating systems, and choking the life out of any honest competition. They move in packs, feeding off weaker players, never contributing unless it benefits their own hive. Just like roaches, they scatter when challenged but thrive when unchecked. They don't clean up messes. They are the mess. They nest in free-to-play games, where developers unknowingly (or worse, knowingly) create the perfect breeding ground—unmoderated, unbalanced, and desperate for engagement numbers. Clans treat players like disposable crumbs—useful only when they boost stats or fill ranks. They don't help; they infect. You join thinking it's a group—then realize you're trapped in a nest of freeloaders, manipulators, and cowardly tyrants. Roaches with titles. They're not building anything.
